Crop production increased when compared with previous year
Increase was occured in the production of cereals and other crops, vegetables and fruits in 2017 with rates of 4.2%, 1.8% and 9.7% when compared with the previous year. Production quantities of cereals and other crops, vegetables, fruits in 2017 became as follows; 68 million 61 thousand tonnes for cereals and other crops, 30 million 826 thousand tonnes for vegetables, 20 million 809 thousand tonnes for fruits.

Cereals production increased in 2017 according to the previous year
Cereals production increased in 2017 with a rate of 2.4% when compared with the previous year and became 36 million 133 thousand tonnes.
Wheat production increased by 4.4% to became 21 million 500 thousand tonnes, barley production increased by 6% and became 7 million 100 thousand tonnes, rye production increased by 6.7% and became 320 thousand tonnes, oats production increased by 11.1% and became 250 thousand tonnes when compared with the previous year.
In the pulses group, an increase occured in broad beans to consume by 9% and production became 6 thousand 847 tonnes, chick pea production increased by 3.3% and became 470 thousand tonnes and increased as 1.1% in potatoes, one of tuber crops, production and become 4 million 800 thousand tonnes.
In the group of oil seeds, soybean production decreased by 15.2% and became 140 thousand tonnes.
Tobacco production became 80 thousand tonnes with increasing rate of 7.8% and sugar beets production increased by 6.3% and became 20 million 828 thousand tonnes.
Vegetables production increased in 2017 when compared with the previous year
Vegetables production in 2017 became 30 million 826 thousand tonnes with increasing rate of 1.8% when compared with the previous year.
When examining production of subgroups of vegetables, root and tuberous vegetables production increased by 0.8%, other vegetables not elsewhere classified with the rate of 3% and vegetables cultivated for their fruits increased with the rate of 1.9%.
The production of some important crops in vegetables; increments became in tomatoes production by 1.2%, in watermelon by 2.1%, in pepper for processed, capia, by 15.7% respectively, while decrements became as 2.2% in melon, 2.3% in green pepper, 1.3% in green beans respectively.
Fruits production increased in 2017 according to the previous year
Fruits production became 20 million 809 thousand tonnes in 2017 increasing by 9.7% when compared with the previous year.
When examining productions of some important fruits, there is increase in apple figures with the rate of 3.6%, in peaches by 14.4%, in cherries by 4.6%, in apricots production with the rate of 34.9% respectively, when compared with the previous year.
In the citrus group, increments became in mandarin production by 16%. From nuts, pistachios production decreased by 54.1%.
Grape production increased by 5% and persimmons production increased by 9.8%.
Ornamental plants production increased in 2017 when compared with the previous year
Ornamental plants production in 2017 increased by 7% when compared to the previous year.
When the shares of these flowers in the total ornamental plant production are examined, it is seen that total cut flowers have a share of 64.9% and other ornamental plants have a share of 35.1%.
Rose (cut), tulip and lisianthus productions increased by 20.7%, 9.6% and 8.2% respectively, when compared to the previous year.
