The 60.9% of the expenditures were the general government cultural expenditures and 39.1% were the private cultural expenditures.
General government cultural expenditures increased by 11%
Cultural expenditures in general government expenditures were 22 billion 464 million 392 thousand TL in 2016 with an increase of 11% compared to 2015.
The 69.9 of cultural expenditures made from central government budget
The 69.9% of the expenditures were made from the central government budget and 30.1% from the local government budget.
Share of architecture in general government expenditures was 28.6%
When expenditures distributed according to cultural areas in general government expenditures, the shares of these areas were as follows: Architecture 28.6%, books and print media 10.8%, performing arts 9.8%, audiovisual and multimedia 9.5%, cultural heritage 9.4% and natural heritage 8%.
Household cultural expenditures increased by 13.9%
Household cultural expenditures increased by 13.9% in 2016 compared to 2015 and were 14 billion 79 million 164 thousand TL. The 97.5% of private expenditures were made by households and 2.5% by associations and foundations.
The 28.2% of household cultural expenditure was made on television-TV broadcasting
When the distribution of the total cultural expenditure made by the households in 2016 was examined, the shares of the items were as follows: television and TV broadcasting expenditures 28.2%, data processing equipment 12.4%, books, newspapers and magazines 12.4%, wired / private TV broadcasting services charges 11.9%, stationery and drawing materials 8.4% and cinema, theater and concert 4.8%.
Export value of cultural goods were 19 billion 126 million 565 thousand TL
Cultural exports increased by 7.2% in 2016 compared to 2015. The rate of increase was 6.7% for capital goods exports and 19.7% for secondary goods exports.
Share of cultural goods exports in total goods exports was 4.4%
In 2016, the share of cultural goods exports in total goods exports was 4.4%.
Import value of cultural goods was 13 billion 873 million 472 thousand TL
Import of cultural goods decreased by 0.9% in 2016 compared to 2015. The import of capital goods was decreased by 1.8% and import of secondary goods was decreased by 0.4%. In 2016, the share of cultural goods imports in total goods imports was 2.3%.
Largest share in exports was in handicrafts
According to cultural areas, sum of exports of handicrafts which had the biggest share was 13 billion 820 million 955 thousand TL in 2016. The share of handicrafts in total cultural goods exports was 72.3%.
Largest share in imports was in the visual and auditory media
According to cultural areas, sum of imports of audio and visual media in 2016 was 7 billion 426 million 277 thousand TL. The share of the audiovisual media in total cultural goods imports was 53.5%.
