175 million m3 of water was abstracted by organized industrial zones
According to the results of Organized Industrial Zones Water, Wastewater and Waste Statistics Survey, obtained from 217 organized industrial zones in operation, 175 million m3
of water was abstracted to be distributed via organized industrial zone water networks in 2016. Out of this amount, 48.2% was abstracted from wells, 11.5% from springs, 14.3% from municipal water networks, and 26% from dams, artificial lakes and rivers.

Organized industrial zones discharged 263 million m3
of wastewater in 2016. Considering discharges by recieving bodies, 72.5% of wastewater was discharged to rivers, 12% to municipal sewerage, 7.5% to dry stream beds, and 8% was discharged to other receiving bodies.
229 million m3 of wastewater was treated by organized industrial zones
In 2016, 229 million m3
of wastewater was treated by the organized industrial zones. While 56.2% of wastewater was treated by advanced treatment methods, 43.8% of wastewater was treated by chemical or biological treatment methods.
474 thousand tonnes of waste was collected by organized industrial zones
According to the survey results, 474 thousand tonnes of waste was collected by organized industrial zones in 2016. Out of the collected amount, 17.5 thousand tonnes was recovered or temporarily stored within the organized industrial zones, 157.9 thousand tonnes was recovered outside of the organized industrial zones, and 298.6 thousand tonnes was disposed of within or outside of the organized industrial zones. Out of the disposed amount, 58.7% was disposed of in controlled landfill sites and 41.3% was sent to municipal dumping sites.
