Average daily wage of seasonal agricultural workers increased by 12.7%
In agricultural holdings, daily wage of the seasonal agricultural workers increased by 12.7% to 66 TL, monthly wage of permanent agricultural workers increased by 10.7% to 1 857 TL in 2017.
The daily wage of the seasonal female agricultural workers increased by 13.5% to 60 TL and also the daily wage of the male agricultural workers increased by 10.1% to 73 TL.
The monthly wage of the permanent agricultural workers increased by 8.2% to 1 576 TL for female workers and it increased by 12.1% to 1 921 TL for male workers.
When looking at the daily wages of seasonal agricultural workers by selected activities, from the activities that most of the workers were worked, for hoeing; 53 TL was paid to female workers, 57 TL was paid to male workers and for harvesting; 65 TL was paid to female workers, 71 TL was paid to male workers.
The highest daily wage of female seasonal agricultural workers was in Ordu
In agricultural holdings, the highest daily wage of seasonal agricultural workers for female workers was 79 TL in Ordu and for male workers it was 104 TL in Ardahan. The lowest wage was 36 TL for female workers and 46 TL for male workers in Hatay.
The lowest monthly wage of male permanent agricultural workers was in Kilis
When looking at monthly wage paid to the permanent agricultural workers, it was seen that Ankara is the province where the highest monthly wage was paid to female workers with 1 850 TL and Bursa is the province where the highest monthly wage was paid to male workers with 2 854 TL. The lowest average wage was 800 TL for female workers in Samsun and 1 000 TL for male workers in Kilis.

Agricultural holdings labour force wage statistics are compiled from agricultural holdings that are employing at least five seasonal or one permanent agricultural workers during the busiest period for agricultural purposes in the production year that data belongs. 2016 Agricultural Holdings Labour Wage Survey has been applied to 3 781 agricultural holdings in 28 provinces by face-to-face interview.
