Consumer price index (CPI) increased by 0.69% in December 2017
A rise in general index was realized in CPI (2003=100) on the previous month by 0.69%, on December of the previous year by 11.92%, on same month of the previous year by 11.92% and on the twelve months moving averages basis by 11.14% in December 2017.
The highest monthly increase was 1.69% in transportation
In December 2017, the indices rose for food and non-alcoholic beverages 1.52%, for furnishing and household equipment 1.18%, for housing 0.77% and for hotels, cafes and restaurants 0.47%.
The highest monthly decrease was 2.39% in clothing and footwear
In December 2017, the indices declined for communication 0.17% and for alcoholic beverages and tobacco 0.01%.
The highest annual increase was 18.24% in transportation
Food and non-alcoholic beverages with 13.79%, miscellaneous goods and services with 12.77%, furnishing and household equipment with 12.74% and health with 11.90% were the other main groups where high annual increases realized.
The highest monthly increase was 1.52% in TRC3 (Mardin, Batman, Şırnak, Siirt)
The highest increases in CPI were recorded in TRB2 (Van, Muş, Bitlis, Hakkari) region with 13.59% compared with the same month of the previous year and in TRC1 (Gaziantep, Adıyaman, Kilis) region with 12.79% on the twelve months moving averages basis.
In December 2017 within average prices of 414 items in the index, average prices of 48 items remained unchanged while average prices of 242 items increased and average prices of 124 items decreased.
