Consumer price index (CPI) increased by 1.02% in January 2018
A rise in general index was realized in CPI (2003=100) on the previous month by 1.02%, on December of the previous year by 1.02%, on same month of the previous year by 10.35% and on the twelve months moving averages basis by 11.23% in January 2018.
The highest monthly increase was 2.96% in miscellaneous goods and services
In January 2018, the indices rose for furnishing and household equipment 2.44%, for health 2.42%, for housing 2.34% and for food and non-alcoholic beverages 1.67%.
The highest monthly decrease was 6.02% in clothing and footwear
In January 2018, the other group that indicated a decrease was communication by 0.99% amongst the main groups.
The highest annual increase was 16.02% in transportation
Furnishing and household equipment with 13.49%, clothing and footwear with 12.63%, hotels, cafes and restaurants with 11.42% and miscellaneous goods and services with 11.38% were the other main groups where high annual increases realized.
The highest monthly increase was 1.54% in TR62 (Adana, Mersin)
The highest increases in CPI were recorded in TR63 (Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Osmaniye) region with 11.55% compared with the same month of the previous year and in TRC1 (Gaziantep, Adıyaman, Kilis) region with 12.84% on the twelve months moving averages basis.
In January 2018 within average prices of 407 items in the index, average prices of 19 items remained unchanged while average prices of 295 items increased and average prices of 93 items decreased.
