Consumer price index (CPI) increased by 0.55% in July 2018
A rise in general index was realized in CPI (2003=100) on the previous month by 0.55%, on December of the previous year by 9.77%, on same month of the previous year by 15.85% and on the twelve months moving averages basis by 12% in July 2018.
The highest monthly increase was 2.26% in hotels, cafes and restaurants
In July 2018, the indices rose for furnishing and household equipment 1.82%, for recreation and culture 1.62%, for health 1.20% and for housing 1.10%.
The highest monthly decrease was 3.07% in clothing and footwear
In July 2018, the indices declined for food and non-alcoholic beverages 0.28% and for communication 0.11%.
The highest annual increase was 24.21% in transportation
Furnishing and household equipment with 20.32%, food and non-alcoholic beverages with 19.40%, miscellaneous goods and services with 17.24% and hotels, cafes and restaurants with 13.86% were the other main groups where high annual increases realized.
The highest monthly increase was 0.97% in TR32 (Aydın, Denizli, Muğla)
The highest increases in CPI were recorded in TR32 (Aydın, Denizli, Muğla) region with 11.49% compared with the December of the previous year, TR32 (Aydın, Denizli, Muğla) region with 17.81% compared with the same month of the previous year and in TR63 (Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Osmaniye) region with 13.21% on the twelve months moving averages basis.
In July 2018 within average prices of 407 items in the index, average prices of 52 items remained unchanged while average prices of 279 items increased and average prices of 76 items decreased.
