In Turkey, house sales decreased by 23.2% in May 2019 compared to the same month of the previous year and hence, became 91 937. For the house sales of May 2019, İstanbul had the highest share of house sales with 18.8% and 17 296 sold house. The followers of İstanbul were Ankara with 9 414 house sales and İzmir 5 495 house sales with the share of 10.2% and 6% respectively. In May 2019, 14 916 ownership of the houses changed by mortgage sales
The mortgaged house sales throughout Turkey became 14 916 by decreasing 59.5% compared to the same month of the previous year. House sales with mortgage had a 16.2% share of all house sales in Turkey. Most of house sales with mortgage was in İstanbul with 2 564 sales. İstanbul was the first province in Turkey ranking that has most house sales with mortgage share with 17.2%. Other house sales in Turkey became 77 021 by decreasing 7% compared to the same month of the previous year. In the other sales, İstanbul was the first province with 14 732 sales and 19.1% share. Other house sales had 85.2% share of all house sales in İstanbul. Ankara was the second province with 7 658 sales. Ankara was followed by Antalya with 4 829 sales. First house sales in Turkey became 37 246 by decreasing 32.9% compared to the same month of the previous year. First house sales had 40.5% share of all house sales in Turkey. The most first house sales was in İstanbul with 7 363 sales. İstanbul was the first province in Turkey ranking that had most first house sales share with 19.8%. Second hand house sales in Turkey became 54 691 by decreasing 14.7% compared to the same month of the previous year. In the second hand sales, İstanbul was the first province again with 9 933 sales and 18.2% share. Share of the second hand sales was 57.4% in İstanbul in total house sales. In house sales to foreigners became 3 925 by increasing 62.5% compared to the same month of the previous year. İstanbul was the first province with 1 734 sales in May 2019. Iraq citizens bought 594 houses from Turkey in May. The followers of Iraq were Iran with 509 house sales, Russia with 285 house sales, Afghanistan with 183 house sales and Saudi Arabia with 157 house sales.
