Definition: Economic accounts of agriculture includes input and output values of agricultural production (including agro-industries) which demonstrates the economic structure of the agricultural sector, investments, productivity of agricultural labour force, information about agricultural income, and agricultural prices. Agricultural prices are compiled for the purpose of making calculations about the changes in economic welfare and purchasing power of producers who are engaged in agricultural activities. Within the scope of agricultural prices; Prices Received by Farmers (PRF) and Prices Paid by Farmers (PPF) are collected and Producer Price Index for Agriculture and Agricultural Price Index are calculated.PRF, are the unit first hand selling prices of products which are produced or grown and presented to market (wholesale or retail) by producers who are engaged in agriculture. These prices are value added tax exclusive. PPF, are the purchasing price of goods and services which are bought for the purpose of using in the production process by farmers. Classification: NACE Rev.1.1 and CPA- 2002 are used for calculations.International and regional directive: There is no significant difference between Turkey methodology and Eurostat and related international and regional standards.
Calculations cover all agricultural holdings in Turkey. PRF are compiled monthly from Province and District Directorates of Ministry of Food Agriculture and Livestock in which market established via web (Statistical Information System) The prices for crop products includes wholesale price of producers to merchant and factory, for fruits and vegetables districts in which markets established every month first and second week, third and fourth week average market price (retail) and wholesale price of producers to market hall and merchant, for livestock, district animal bazaar, merchant and slaughterhouse cutting price and for animal products district market, merchant and factory buying prices.Monthly quantity and values of agricultural products are compiled from, Fresh Vegetables and Fruits Marketplace, Commodity Exchanges and Producers Union.
Calculation of value: Marketed value is obtained from multiplying production value with their marketing ratios. Production value is calculated by multiplying of production quantity and unit price.Calculation of Province Price and Turkey Price: For all products weighted province price is obtained by multiplication of district weight and district prices, weighted Turkey prices is obtained by multiplying province price with province weights.

Data compiling system: Agricultural prices are collected monthly as average prices for each month in between 1-25 days. In other calculations seasonal and yearly dates are used.
Data Compiling Type: Data are taken monthly from the districts directorates of MFAL via web.
Basis of Country Data: Data is based on producers who are engaged in agriculture.
Data Processing: Data compiled from the districts and provinces of the MFAL are processed only by the Turkish Statistical Institute.Access by the Public: Prices of crop products and production value and livestock, animal product prices and production value are published twice in a year in News bulletin and Agricultural Statistics Summary are published as book and CD.
For Prices and Values in Livestock and Animal Products;Revision is not foreseen in 2015. In case of any revision it will be shared with the public.
